Opening of the First Exhibition “Ramadan Lights Photography” at Benha National University - Faculty of Visual Arts and Design
Dr. Gamal El-Saeed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Benha National University, inaugurated the activities of the university’s first photography exhibition titled “Ramadan Lights.” The exhibition was organized by the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design, Media Arts and Advertising Program, at the university campus, with participation from first-year students.
The event was attended by Dr. Soheir Shaarawy, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Tamer Samir, President of the University; Dr. Hussein El-Maghrabi, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Dr. Ghada El-Moselhy, Director of Programs at the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design. The exhibition was supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Haidy Youssef, Coordinator of the Media Arts and Advertising Program, along with a number of college deans and faculty members. The opening took place in a celebratory atmosphere that reflected the creative energy of the university’s students.
The exhibition embodies the spirit of the holy month through the lenses of the program’s students. It includes a diverse collection of photographic works that capture the spirituality of the blessed month of Ramadan through distinctive visual treatments highlighting the beauty of light and traditional Ramadan decorations. The exhibition presents a youthful artistic vision that reflects students’ talents and their ability to express ideas through innovative visual storytelling.
During the opening, Dr. Gamal El-Saeed emphasized that organizing the exhibition reflects the university’s belief in the importance of art and culture in shaping students’ personalities and developing their creative skills alongside their academic education. He also noted the university’s commitment to providing an integrated educational environment that supports innovation and nurtures talents in various fields.
University leaders also praised the high quality of the displayed works, commending the students’ efforts in presenting artistic pieces that reflect cultural awareness and refined aesthetic sensibility. They emphasized the importance of continuing such events, as they help strengthen a sense of belonging and encourage positive engagement within the university community.
The exhibition is part of Benha National University’s plan to support cultural and artistic activities that contribute to developing students’ skills and preparing a generation capable of creativity and competition in different fields. The exhibition will continue throughout the holy month of Ramadan and is open for visits by all members of the university community.
